Java technology allows you to work and play in a safe computing environment. What is Java?

Jre – This is the java environment.

JDK – This is Java Development Kit, a full -functional SDK for Java.
It has everything that is in JRE, as well as a compiler (Javac) and tools (such as Javadoc and JDB). He is able to create and compile programs.

Usually, if you only care about starting Java programs on a computer, you install only Jre. This is all you need. If you plan to do programming on Java, you need to install JDK instead.
